Freeganism

Here's a good article at the Washington Post about dumpster diving vegans and the ecological merits of the practice.

"Put all of it back in the trash and get off the property now," the employee ordered.

As Meadows saw it, that chocolate-covered ginger had a one-way ticket from the Falls Church store to the Fairfax County landfill, so he was liberating it, not stealing it.

Note: I should comment that one of the principals of the article, Ryan Beiler, was drawn to diving by the call to live simply by his Christian beliefs. It's a funny parallel: another case of good things coming out of a pile of junk.

Christians are welcome to eat my garbage anytime they want. After all, I've certainly heard enough about Jesus and their other garbage.
