Greening the womb

Gristmill has a good post that discusses the relationship between reproductive rights and environmentalism:

You might be asking what women's reproductive rights have to do with environmentalism. Well, the answer to that is: pretty much everything. The root causes of our environmental ills are the wants, needs, and desires of unimaginably huge numbers of people.

This is yet another way that religion is bad for the planet. Not only do you have religious terrorists blowing up family planning clinics and murdering doctors, and opportunistic politicians playing to the mores of a deluded society by curtailing women's reproductive rights in the law, but now you have extreme christians trying to stamp out contraception, and I'm not just talking about the "Morning After" pill. You would think that they were actively trying to destroy the planet.
